The Wrentham American Legion Annual Family Barbeque is back to close out the summer and mother nature looks to be cooperating this weekend, so grab some chairs and pack the entire family into the car for a fun-filled day.
The festivities begin at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 592 South St., Wrentham. The meal includes great barbecued chicken and festive side dishes, which will be needed to fuel up for the variety of games on hand that will entertain all ages.
Who doesn't like to participate in a few vintage yard games, how about the classic egg toss? The horseshoe tournament is sure to liven up the audience as well as water balloons for a fresh cool down. There will also be a fire engine on display, a 50/50 raffle and door prizes.
A donation of $15 for adults (2/$25), and $5 for kids (10 and under) buys the entire lunch and entry into the kids games.
The best part of the day is realizing that all this fun went to a good cause as all proceeds from the event supports veterans organizations/services and scholarships.
