What's Going on at the Local Libraries This Week?

It's going to be a busy week at the Fiske Public Library, Plainville and Norfolk Public Libraries during February vacation.

 

With this week being February vacation week, there are a lot going on at the local libraries:

At Plainville Public Library:

Tuesday, Feb. 19:

LEGO MAKE A TOWN CHALLENGE: Collectively, they are making a Lego town during the regular hours at the library. It could be a fire truck, a house, a park, a zoo, a story or a stop light. Pictures of the town will be posted on the library's Facebook page.

BUBBLEOLOGY: A program will be offered dealing with the science of bubbles in the children's room at 10:30 a.m. The program is five and up and no registration is needed.

Wednesday, Feb. 20:

AN ELEPHANT & PIGGIE PARTY: A programs for ags 3 and up, featuring stories and crafts celebrating the friendship of Gerald and Piggie at 1:30 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 21:

MOTHER GOOSE ON THE LOOSE: A structured 30 minute porgram with rhymas, finger plays, music and puppets for ages 0-2 and their caregivers. No registration is required. The program starts at 10:15 a.m.

NORFOLK PUBLIC LIBRARY

Tuesday, Feb. 19:

ADULT BOOK DISCUSSION-The Tuesday Afternoon Book Club will be meeting at 1:30 p.m. to discuss, 97 Orchard St., an edible history of five immigrant families by Jane Ziegelman.

Thursday, Feb. 20:

LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES-The Board of Library Trustees will be meeting at 6:30 p.m.

FISKE PUBLIC LIBRARY:

Tuesday, Feb. 19

PASTEL WORKSHOP-Greg Maichack is back with a pastel class titled Monet’s Mirror. The free class will be for teens and adults and all materials will be provided.  Signup is required and the class is limited so call early. Funded by the Wrentham Cultural Council and the Friends of the Fiske. It will be held from 6-8 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 20

DESTINATION IMAGINATION-Programs will be offered at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. 

Thursday, Feb. 21

FOUR PAWS-It will be taking place from 5-7 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 22

BABY/TODDLER PLAYGROUPS-Two programs, one for birth to pre-walkers with mom or dad or caregiver at 9:30 a.m. and one for ages walkers to ages 2 1/2 with mom or dad or caregiver. You can meet new friends, play with the toys and equipment.
