Gillette Stadium to Leave Empty Seat for POW/MIA
Rolling Thunder will participate in seat dedication, the first in a major professional sports venue
Since World War I, more than 92,000 American soldiers remain unaccounted for and the New England Patriots and New England Revolution will pay tribute to those POW/MIA soldiers with a special ceremony and dedication Friday.
Friday's ceremony at Gillette Stadium will mark the first time in the history of professional sports a team will leave a seat permanently unoccupied in recognition of the many soldiers who are POW/MIA.
A black seat above the stadium’s south end zone will remain permanently empty and marked by a plaque recognizing the sacrifice of the POW/MIA.

Robert Kraft, chairman and CEO of the The Kraft Group and Joe D’Entremont, president of the Massachusetts Chapter 1 of the Rolling Thunder, will participate in the dedication, along with approximately 50 members of the Rolling Thunder, who will enter Gillette Stadium on their motorcycles. The ceremony occurs in advance of the Patriots’ Veterans Day game on Sunday vs. the Buffalo Bills in Foxborough.
