Five Things You Need to Know: Thursday, Jan. 31

A wine-cheese reception will be held at The Young Artist Studio Feb. 7.

1. The high wind advisory posted last night will last until 9 a.m., according to WHDH. There will be some very early morning rain, ending before 8 a.m. and it will be clearing quickly. It will be warmer in the morning in the 50s, before dropping to the low and mid-40s by the afternoon. 

2. A wine-and-cheese reception to celebrate the opening of a new art exhibit by The Young Artist Studio will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, from 5-7 p.m. at The Terrace Café in Wrentham. The exhibit will be on display through the month of February. This exhibit includes works of acrylic on canvas and mixed media created by artists ages six-14. 3. The King Philip Student Council will be meeting tonight (Thursday) from 7-9 p.m. at King Philip High School.

4.The Wrentham Cultural Council is sponsoring Arts on the Common to be held June 1,10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration and information for this juried event is online at www.artsonthecommon.org. Early application is discounted until Feb. 15 and is strongly encouraged. This will be a festive, family oriented celebration of the arts featuring juried handcrafted fine arts and crafts, performance art, music and interactive activities. 5. The King Philip School Committee will be meeting Monday, Feb. 4, at King Philip High School at 7 p.m.
