Fiske Public Library Hosts Fire Station Visit

2. The Fiske Public Library will hosting a fire station visit this morning at 10 a.m. The event is free, but a canned good donations to the Wrentham Food Pantry would be appreciated. Fire truck enthusiasts will meet at the library for "Fire Story" and then walk over to the fire station where they will be allowed to climb on the fire trucks.

3. The Bill McGoldrick Acoustic Duo will be performing at the Wrentham Recreation's Concert on the Common, Sunday, Aug. 18, at 6:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Wrentham Sweatt Fund.

4. The Patriots will hold their second joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today at 2 p.m. at the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium.
The practice is open to the public and admission is free.

5. Make sure you have this date marked on your calendar. The Wrentham American Legion Post 225 will be holding their annual Chicken BBQ fundraiser to be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 592 South St. Post members will be serving BBQ chicken along with a variety of sides. The cost is $15 per person (two for $25, $5 for children 10 and under). There will be a horseshoe tournament, raffles, children's games and a fire truck on site. All proceeds will support various A2merican Legion Post 225 veteran and community programs as well as scholarships for local students. For more information, call 508-384-2932.
