Don't Forget to Sign Up for Wrentham Flag Football

Mark this day on your calendar: The 32nd Annual Wrentham Day and Wrentham Wroad Wrace will be held Saturday, Sept. 7. Wrentham Day will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., while the Wroad Wrace starts at 10 a.m. Some of the highlights of the day are the Giant Banana Split, sponsored by the Wrentham Lions Club and the Pioneer Engine Company's clam chowder. Registration is now open for the 2013 flag football season. This program is open to boys and girls, Grades 1–8. It is open to all Wrentham residents and to non-Wrentham residents as space allows. All registrations and payments must be submitted online. Cost is $90 per player. Those interested in coaching should also sign up on this site.  You will receive confirmation when your transaction is completed.  Click here to register: Flag Football Registration 2013 .Coaches meeting and player evaluations will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28., Coaches Meeting 6 – 6:30 p.m.,Player Evaluations: Grades 1 – 4 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. and Grades 5 – 8 7:15 – 8 p.m. Games will begin Wednesday, Sept. 4 and continue through Nov. 2. Wrentham Youth Soccer will be meeting in the Sweatt Meeting Room, Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 7-9 p.m.

A special election will be held in Plainville Sept. 10 from 7-8 p.m. at the Beatrice Wood Elementary School, 72 Messenger St., to see if the town will vote to permit the operation of a gaming establishment, licensed by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to be located at the Plainridge Racecourse.
