Countdown to Wrentham Day, Playgroups at Fiske Public Library

1. Wrentham Day and Wrentham Wroad Wrace is now less than a month away. It will be held Saturday, Sept. 7 with informational booths, vendors selling their goods, crafts and games. There will be a Giant Banana Split, sponsored by the Wrentham Lions Club. There will be Pioneer Engine Company's clam chowder and burgers and hot dogs, served by Wrentham Youth Baseball/Softball Association. Wrentham Day will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., while the Wroad Wrace starts at 10 a.m. Vendor and wroad wrace applications are available on the Wrentham town site.

2. Baby/toddler playgroups will hold two programs Friday, Aug. 9, at 9:30 a.m.-noon. The 9:30 a.m. program will be from birth to pre-walkers with mom, dad or caregiver. Toddlers (walkers) to ages 2 1/2 with mom, dad or a caregiver meet Fridays at 10:30 a.m. You will be able to meet new friends, play with the toys and gym equipment purchased with funds from the Friends of Fiske. No registration is required.

3. The Norfolk Public Library has passes available for the Peabody Essex Museum and The Hall at Patriot Place.

4. The Tuesday Afternoon Book Discussion Group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. in the Norfolk Public Library. The group is run by library director Robin Glasser. The current title may be obtained by calling the circulation desk at 508-528-3380 x2.

5. The Dixie Diehards will be performing on Wrentham Recreation's Concert of the Common, Sunday, Aug. 11. The event is sponsored by the Wrentham Sweatt Fund and starts at 6:30 p.m.
