1. Congressman Joe Kennedy III today announced that he will be holding constituent office hours in North Attleborough, Plainville and Wrentham Saturday, Aug. 3. The office hours are part of ‘Tour 34,’ Congressman Kennedy’s ongoing commitment to bring constituent office hours to all 34 cities and towns in the 4th District by the end of 2013. He will be at the Richards Memorial Library in North Attleboro, from 10-11 a.m., the Plainville Fire Station, noon-1 p.m. and the Wrentham Public Safety Building from 2-3 p.m.
2. The Massachusetts Senate approved a bill to allow residents to shop tax free on Aug. 10-11. Now, the bill has to be signed by Governor Deval Patrick.
3. The Wrentham American Legion is holding its annual chicken BBQ Saturday, Aug. 24, at 1 p.m. Tickets are one for $15, two for $25 . Kids 10 and under are under $5.
4. The Berkshire Valley Boys will be performing at the Wrentham Concert of the Common, Sunday, Aug. 5, at 6:30 p.m. The event is hosted by Wrentham Recreation and sponsored by the Wrentham Sweatt Fund.
5. Fantastic Friday: A Midsummer Nite's Scheme will be held at the Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Norfolk, Friday, Aug. 2, from 6-8 p.m. for adults. The cost is $19 for members and $22 for nonmembers. For more information, go to their web site.
