Attend a Family Barbeque, Take One Last Dip in Sweatt Beach and More to do This Weekend

Family Barbeque: Bring the entire family to this fun annual event that supports veteran's organizations, services and scholarships. The festivities will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, 1 p.m. 592 South St., Wrentham. The day's agenda includes many vintage yard games, a 50/50 raffle and door prizes. A $15 adult donation (two/$25), or kids $5 donation (10 and under) includes a half chicken (1/4 kids), delicious side dishes and kids games.

New England AAA Member Appreciation Day: AAA members can finish up their back-to-school shopping with considerable discounts at the Wrentham Village Outlets, Saturday, Aug. 24. Bring your AAA card and the first 100 members will receive complimentary tote bags, and all will earn special one-day savings at participating stores. Prizes will also be awarded. Keep the family entertained while shopping by parking them at the Heritage Court for some live music by Black & White, 1-3 p.m.

Last Day to Enjoy Sweatt Beach: Close out the summer with a final visit to Wrentham's local gem, Sweatt Beach on Lake Pearl, Sunday, Aug. 25. The beach's hours for its final day of the season are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. For residents who didn't purchase a season's pass, the rates are incredibly reasonable at $4 for adults and $3 for children. Sweatt Beach on Lake Pearl is located off Woolford Road and is open to Wrentham, Norfolk and Plainville residents for swimming and recreation.
