5 Things: Warrant for Special Town Meeting Released, KP Volleyball Move on in Tournament, and More!

It's Wednesday, November 7 and here are the five things you need to know.

1. Today's Weather from the National Weather Service

  • Today: A chance of rain and snow before noon, then rain. High near 43. Breezy, with a northeast wind 15 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
  • Tonight: Rain. Low around 35. Breezy, with a north wind around 22 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

 

2. King Philip Volleyball Advances to the Sectional Semi-Finals

The seventh ranked King Philip volleyball team upset #2 Boston Latin Academy in the quarterfinals of the MIAA East-Central Volleyball tournament. The Warriors swept Boston Latin Academy 3-0.

KP will play at Quincy in the semi-finals on November 8 at 7:00 p.m.

3. Planning Board Meeting Tonight

The Planning Board will meet tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room on the second floor of Town Hall. The board will continue the public hearing concerning Wrentham Village Premium Outlets and an addition hearing on a proposal that would create an adult entertainment district in Wrentham.

 

4. Warrant for Special Town Meeting Released

The Town Clerk has released the Warrant for the Special Town Meeting at King Philip High School next week.

The meeting is set for November 13 at 7:30 p.m.

 

5. Turnout Falls Short of '08 Number

Turnout in Wrentham for yesterday's election was unofficially 80.31%. The turnout is slightly lower than it was in 2008 when 81.4% of Wrentham voted.
