5 Things: Scott Brown to Miss the Start of the Convention, Road Race Info, and More!

In this edition of 5 Things You Need to Know, Scott Brown announces he will be late for the RNC, info on how to sign up for the Wrentham WRoad Race and Cracker Barrel Classic 5K, and more!

1. Partly Sunny With a High of 82

According to the National Weather Service, there will be some patchy fog before 8am. The rest of the day should be partly sunny with a high near 82 degress with a low near 67. In the evening, there is a chance of showers, with the chances of rain and thunder increasing after 1 a.m.

2. Senator Scott Brown to Miss the Start of the RNC

The Boston Globe is reporting that Senator Brown will not be at the opening days of the RNC, instead choosing to train with the National Guard.

According to the campaign, Brown will be at an event Monday in Tewksbury before training Tuesday and Wednesday. The Senator will then arrive in Tampa for Thursday's convention activities.

3. KP Walkthoughs

The KP School Committee will be conducting a walkthrough of KP High School and Middle School tonight starting at 7 p.m. The public is welcomed to join them as they will start at the high school and then move to the middle school in Norfolk at 8 p.m.

4. Back to Back 5Ks

Racing enthusiasts will be coming to Wrentham next month as there will be two straight weekends of racing next month. The Wrentham WRoad Race will take place on September 8 as part of the Wrentham Day activities at Wrentham Common at 10 a.m. while the Cracker Barrel Classic starts on September 15 at 9 a.m at the Wrentham Developmental Center.

The WRoad Race is $18 in advance and $20 on race day while the Cracker Barrel Classic is $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the race.

5. KP Soccer to Scrimmage

The KP boy's soccer team will have their first scrimmage of the year when they travel to New Bedford today at 10 a.m. The regular season for the Warriors starts on September 3 at Bishop Feehan High School/
