5 Things: More Rain, Planning Board to Meet, Selectmen Looking for Volunteer of the Year, and More!

In today's 5 Things You Need to Know, we're in for another rainy and windy day, the season flu clinic takes place in a week, the Planning Board is scheduled to meet tonight, and more!

1. Today's Weather

Here is today's forecast according to the National Weather Service.

  • During the day: Rain likely, mainly before 9am. The rain could be heavy at times. Patchy fog between 9am and 10am. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 69. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
  • This evening: Mostly clear, with a low around 44. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light.

2. Planning Board Scheduled to Meet

The Planning Board will meet tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room on the second floor of Town Hall.

3. Field Hockey Wins!

KP Field Hockey improved to 3-1-1 with a convincing 5-0 win over Ursuline Academy of Dedham. Danielle Hamilton led the way with a three goal performance while Ashley Avery had two goals. 

The Warriors are back home on September 20 vs North Attleboro.

 

4. Seasonal Flu Clinic

In one week, the Town of Wrentham will host their first seasonal flu clinic. The clinic will take place on September 26 from 10:00 a.m to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wrentham Senior Center on 400 Taunton Street.

The clinic is open for only Wrentham residents that are at least 12 years old. Those with insurance are asked to bring their cards but anyone without insurance will not be turned away.

 

5. Volunteer of the Year

The Board of Selectmen is now accepting nominations for the fifth Annual "Town of Wrentham Volunteer of the Year." According to the town website, "this award is given to residents that have gone above and beyond to volunteer their time to the Town."

Nominations submitted to the Board of Selectmen will be accepted until October 5. There will be two awards for volunteers under 18 and over 18 with the winners receiving special recognition at the Special Town Meeting on November 5.
