5 Things: Happy Wrentham Day and KP Football Wins Big!

It's the weekend and here are the 5 things you need to know!

1. This Weekend's Weather

According to the National Weather Service, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1:00 p.m. with a 30% chance of precipitation during the day. Otherwise expect a partly sunny day with a high around 81 degrees.

There is an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Gusty winds between 11 and 16 mph and heavy rain could be a product of the storm . The low is expected to be around 62.

On Sunday there is a chance of showers before 8:00 a.m. but otherwise, the day should be partly sunny with a high near 75 and a low around 52.

2. Wrentham Day!

Happy Wrentham Day to everyone! The event starts with the WRoad Race 5K at 10 a.m. with music and booths open at Wrentham Common until  4 p.m.

The firefighters will be there serving their chowder along with the Lions Club who will be once again offering banana splits during the afternoon.

 

3. Football Wins!

Driving two hours north of Wrentham, the Warriors beat Dover, NH 35 - 12. They come home 1-0 on the season and will prepare for next week’s game against Medfield, who is only a short 20 minute drive from KP High School.

 

4. Other KP Results

Boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer, volleyball, and field hockey all competed against Oliver Ames High School yesterday. Unfortunately, only volleyball was successful with a 3-0 win over the Tigers. Boys’ soccer lost 3-0, girls soccer fell 1-0, and field hockey came up short 2-0.

 

5. Final Summer Concert at Wrentham Outlets

Groove Merchant will wrap up the Summer Concert Series at the Wrentham Premium Outlets this weekend in Heritage Court. The last performance will take place on Sunday, September 9 at 1 p.m.
