Today in 5 things, there is construction in Plainville that could cause traffic in Wrentham, the Planning Board will meet today, and more!

1. Rainy With a High of 78

According to the National Weather Service, we can expect showers and possibly a thunderstorm with a high near 78 degrees. Southwest wind will range from 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. The chance of precipitation is 90%. 

In the evening, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms with a low around 64. The chance of precipitation is 40%.

2. Construction on Route 1 in Plainville

Watch out if you're traveling to Plainville. Work has recently begun on an apartment complex at the site of the former Cowboy Town behind National Tire and Battery on Taunton St. According to the Plainville Police, crews will be connecting a sewer line to the middle of Taunton St. at the entrance to Plainville Commons. Delays can be expected in both directions on Taunton St. from Rt.1 to the Wrentham line.

3. Today's KP High Athletics Contests

The cross country team will participate in the Hockomock League Jamboree at Boarderland Park in Easton. The preseason race is a 1.5 mile affair will feature the entire league facing off for early bragging rights.

The boys' soccer team will host Bishop Feehan at KP at 3:30 p.m. Last year the Warriors went 6-6-5 and made it to the first round of the MIAA Division 1 South tournament.

4. Planning Board to Meet

The Wrentham Planning board will meet tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room at Town Hall. The full agenda can be seen on the board's official Facebook page.

5. Back to School!

Today represents the first day of school for KP Middle and High School. Wrentham Patch wishes a good first day and year for everyone going back today!
