Today in 5 Things You Need to Know, the 9/11 Memorial will be unveiled tonight, Symphony Nova announces their first date at KP High School, KP XC races at Taunton High School, and more!

1. Sunny with a High of 69

According to the National Weather Service, today should be sunny with a high near 69 degrees. The evening is expected to be mostly clear with a low around 48 degrees.

The 9/11 Memorial will be revealed tonight at 6:30 p.m. in front of Town Hall. Speakers tonight include State Senator Richard Ross, Selectmen Chairman Joe Botaish, Police Chief James Anderson, Fire Chief Jay McMorrow, and former WCVB reporter Gail Huff.

The regular season for KP cross country team starts today when the Warriors travel to Taunton for a dual meet at 3:45 p.m. while the volleyball team will host Hockomock League newcomers Milford.

4. Symphony Nova comes to KP High

New England’s first training orchestra, Symphony Nova, will bring a
new orchestra of excellence to the Neponset Valley beginning September
30 at 3:00 p.m. at KP High School.  

Led by Maestro Lawrence Isaacson, it will provide advanced professional training for post-collegiate professional musicians, ages 21 to 35, and is one of only of four training orchestras in the U.S.

Formerly the Neponset Valley Philharmonic Orchestra, which was launched in 2007, Symphony Nova is brining a new musical revolution to Greater Boston, with a fully paid professional orchestra of 65 members who will typically perform eight concerts, four concerts each.

5. Warrant Opened for Town Meeting

After voting to open the town warrant for November's Town Meeting at last week's Board of Selectmen meeting, there is a week left to submit an article for the meeting. The warrant will close on September 18 at the next meeting of the Selectmen.
