The 22nd Rodman Ride for Kids is set to begin – and end – in Foxborough on Saturday, Sept. 29.

The ride, which begins at 10 Lincoln Rd. – across from Gold’s Gym – off Route 1, is a non-competitive cycling tour each fall devoted to raising money for at-risk children in Massachusetts.

The start time depends on the distance of the ride. The 25-mile ride has two waves starting at 10 and 11 a.m., the 50-mile ride starts at 8:30 a.m. and the 100-mile ride starts at 7 a.m. Riders depart in waves, beginning at their start times.

Riders must be 12 years of age or older to participate. Riders between 12 and 18 must be accompanied by an adult and a waiver must be signed. In addition to the riders, over 500 volunteers will be on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly. A barbecue and raffle offering lots of great prizes will be held following the rides.

The money that is raised from the event is donated to youth-focused social service agencies in hopes to improve the lives and support for the children. The expenses associated with the Ride for Kids are less than 3 percent of the total revenue and they are all underwritten. This means that when you donate to the Ride or Kids, 100 percent of your donation will directly benefit at-risk kids.
