REGISTER NOW! The annual statewide Against the Tide is a family-friendly fundraising event to benefit Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC).  MBCC works to reduce toxic chemicals in the environment, which research shows are linked to the dramatic rise in the incidence of breast cancer.  Against the Tide will take place at DCR’s Nickerson State Park on Saturday August 18th, from 7 a.m. until noon.  It consists of several different activities: a competitive and recreational 1-mile swim, 2-mile kayak, 3-mile walk, 5K run, and 10K run. New in 2012 is an Aquathlon consisting of a competitive 1-mile swim and your choice of a competitive 5K or 10K run. The event starts at 7:00am and ends at 12:00 noon. Nickerson State Park is located in southeastern Massachusetts on the mid-Cape, Brewster. The address is 3488 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631 

From Boston: take Rte. 3 south to the Sagamore Bridge, then Rte. 6 to exit 12 in Orleans, turn left off the ramp onto Rte. 6A West towards Brewster. Continue for about 2 miles. Park Entrance is on left
