SHAKEPEARE FOR KIDS III
SATURDAY APRIL 13 – 1:30 p.m.
GRADES 4-12 -- ADULTS WELCOME
In conjunction with "WRENTHAM READS," we will be offering SHAKEPEARE FOR KIDS III. Experience the words of William Shakespeare through his eyes. You will meet the accomplished Bard and his wife, Anne Hathaway, while he is writing The Merchant of Venice, Macbeth, and Twelfth Night. Through their romance and the words of his sonnets, you will experience Shakespeare’s classics come alive with imagination, swordplay, and love. Through our production, we introduce some of Shakespeare’s most famous works, and Elizabethan life. We hope to encourage our audience to cherish their family and overcome their own prejudices.
The Hampstead family began its mission 29 years ago. Since its inception, our company has grown into one of the largest educational touring companies in the nation. Performing over 2,000 shows a year in all 48 contiguous states; we have played for about 20,000 audience members. Our interactive educational tours run year-round using elaborate sets and are performed by two professional actors, each playing multiple roles, changing costumes throughout the performance. Our scripts are original adaptations, based directly on literary classics, and include children and adults from the audience. The plays last one hour, with a question and answer session following the performance. Tickets will be available at the circulation desk on March 1. Program is free but canned-good donations will be gratefully accepted for the Wrentham Food Pantry. This program is supported with a grant from the SWEATT FUND.
