After being an all-star quarterback at King Philip, Howard went to Worcester Academy where he switched to tight-end and defensive end. Last year, he was red-shirted by the Minutemen, but is expected to jump into a starting role for head coach Charley Moinar's team, which will open up their home campaign with a Sept. 8 game against Indiana University at Gillette Stadium in a 3:30 p.m. The Minutemen are making the switch for Division 1A in college football.
At Worcester Academy, Howard had 10 catches for 257-yards and a touchdown as a tight-end, while he made 18 tackles on defense with two sacks.

While at KO, the 6-foot, 5-inch, 250-pound Howard threw for 13 touchdowns in 11 games and for 1,038 yards.
