The week of April 1 to April 6
1. The town held elections on Monday, and Charles Kennedy and incumbent Stephen Langley were elected to the Board of Selectmen.
2. The King Philip School Committee seat, however, went unfilled. No one filed to run for the seat, and the top write-in declined the position.
3. The town selectmen made alterations to Town Administrator William Ketcham's proposed budget. The board added funds for an additional police officer and to the elementary and high schools.
4. Senator Scott Brown spoke to the United Regional Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday. He spoke about the importance of small business and how the government spends money poorly.
5. Northeast Financial Strategies won this week's Best Of poll, which asked locals about the best place to prepare taxes in the area.
