Vision for Vacancies: 513 South Street

What would you like to see go into 513 South Street?

In 2011, Wrentham Antiques closed their doors on 513 South Street after initially opening in 1990. One year later, it looked liked a the empty building would soon have a new tenant.

For months drivers up and down Route 1A passed the building with a sign that simply said to find Wrentham Artisan on Facebook.

A quick view of their profile shows that Wrentham Artisan would of been a place that would of sold fresh and high quality food and beverages but recent news has put an end to that before the store could even open.

After months of little news an update, Wrentham Artisan announced on their Facebook page that while an artisan food market would not happen after having what they called, "an exciting business opportunity and after much analysis it proved to be something worth pursuing."

While the official announcement for what will become of the building won't come for another couple of weeks, we at Wrentham Patch were wondering what you would like to see in the building. When the new tenants announce their plans, what are you hoping to hear? Tell us in the comments section!

I think I would have liked food of some sort. I miss the old A and P. If you need just a few things it is a pain to have to go through the grocery stores after a day at work.. I would love to see the el bolero type place for the younger people. Dancing, bar food they really have no where to go to just have fun.

I'd love to see a local business owner occupy the space - someone who creates and produces products right here, adding revenues and jobs to the local economy.

Something fitness related! Wrentham could use an aerobic studio type facility or some local marketplace! Nothing bar related. Been there done that - what a messy spot for that!
