The King Philip marching band performed their annual preview show Sunday night in anticipation of the upcoming fall competition schedule.

A supportive and excited crowd at the King Philip Regional High School football field was treated to a part by part breakdown of the performance followed by a full run-through to end the evening.

The program, called "The Other Side," follows a man from another world. Board with his surrounds, he leaves his world for a new one portrayed by the band and the color guard.

As the performance goes on, the man realizes that this world is not for him and tries to escape to his home. Whether he makes it back or not will have to wait until the band competes.

This year, the Pride and Passion of KP will play Montagues and Capulets by Sergei Prokofiev, Peterloo Overture by Malcolm Arnold, and Death of Tybalt once again by Prokofiev.

The first performance for the marching band will be Saturday, September 29 at the Blackstone-Millville Regional High School Musicfest at Bellingham High School. The competition is set to start at 6:00 p.m. with King Philip taking the field at 8:30 p.m.
