New Poll Gives Warren a 5 Point Lead Over Brown

A new poll from Western New England College gives Elizabeth Warren a 50% - 45% lead over Senator Scott Brown.

Taken between September 28 - October 4, the poll of 440 likely voters had 50% of voters choosing Warren to 45% for Brown. 3% was undecided and 2% refused to answer. The margin of error is 4.7%

Based on party identification, Brown took 98% of those who identified as Republicans while Warren had the support of 85% of Democrat polled. Continuing to poll well among Independents, Brown took 62% to Warren's 35%.

Despite trailing, Brown still enjoys a 55% approval rating with 33% disapproving of the job that Brown is doing. His favorable ratings are similar with 52% finding Brown favorable and 36% unfavorable.

Warren's favorable ratings were slightly lower at 50% but had a higher unfavorable rating at 41%.

While Warren leads, the race is hardly over. 14% of those supporting Warren said that they might change their mind as did 16% of Brown supporters.

The poll is the latest in a streak of bad polling results for the Brown Campaign. The newest poll increases Warren's lead in the Real Clear Politics average of the last four polls to 3.7 percent. Senator Brown has not led in a poll since Kimball PoliticalConsulting showed Brown with an one point lead over Warren on September 20.
