The Mount St. Mary's Abbey's 1962 holiday album, Christmas in the Cloister will be getting a rerelease thanks to the Paris based Jade Records.

The album, features the sisters signing traditional Gregorian chants and popular Christmas carols that includes Silent Night and The Christmas Child.

The decision to re-release the 1962 album came during talks between the abbey and the music group to make a new CD for this holiday season. While the CD will not be completed for Christmas this year, the music group decided to reissue their '62 album.

The abbey is home currently home to 41 nuns including some who sang on the album. The nuns are known to enjoy singing as one of their pasttimes and have sold albums of some of their singing in their gift shop.

Christmas in the Cloister will be released in stores and online on iTunes and Amazon on November 6. The new album is aiming for a Sping 2013 release.
