Layman, Maryland Lose to Boston College
Former King Philip standout Jake Layman and his University of Maryland men's basketball teammates dropped a decision to Boston College Tuesday.
In his return to the area as a college basketball player, King Philip standout Jake Layman scored five points, grabbed six rebounds and had a steal as the University of Maryland men's basketball team was upset by Boston College, 69-59, Tuesday at Chestnut Hill.
Layman, a freshman, started at guard for Maryland. With the loss, Maryland fell to 18-8 overall, but they are 6-7 in the ACC.
Maryland is battling for a NCAA tournament spot and might need a strong showing at the ACC Tournament to get in this year.
Next up for Maryland is a Saturday home showdown with Clemson at noon.
