Layman, Maryland Basketball Knocks Off Duke

Former King Philip standout Jake Layman was a starting guard as the University of Maryland men's basketball team defeated Duke Saturday night on ESPN.

 

 

Former King Philip High standout Jake Layman scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds for his starting guard spot at the University of Maryland men's basketball team defeated Duke, 83-81, in a thriller Saturday night on ESPN.

A freshman, Layman has earned a spot for Maryland, who will be at Boston College Tuesday night for a 9 p.m. game against the Eagles. The game will be shown on ACC Network.

Layman has appeared in every game for the 18-7 Terrapins, starting nine games, while averaging 5.5 points per game.
