Get Out! The Regional Weekend Planner

Lots of good stuff this weekend.

 

Friday

Casey O'Conors in Mansfield is featuring DJs all weekend. Friday is DJ Brian Delano. Saturday is DJ Jim DePillo.

Nick Rossi is playing at the Tavern in Wrentham 7 p.m. to close. Join Rossi as he plays covers of all kinds, simulating every instrument, from drums to sax, violen to sitar and more. 

There will be  Bingo at St. Mary's Church in Norton at 6:45 p.m.

Lounge at Christina's is a great spot to have a drink and listen to music without a cover charge Friday Nights starting at 9 p.m. with DJ Adam. Saturday at 9 p.m. a DJ will be playing songs from 70s, 80s, 90s and today.

The Machine - A Tribute to Pink Floyd is playing at Showcase Live. America’s top Pink Floyd show, has forged a 20 year reputation of excellence, extending the legacy of Pink Floyd, while creating another legacy all their own.  Over the years, The Machine has touched the hearts and souls of many, selling out large clubs and theatres across North and Central America, Europe and Asia.  They have also appeared at renowned music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Riverbend, and Germany’s Rock of Ages.

Saturday

The Round Table Forum is meeting on Sunday in Parsonage at 11:15 a.m. 

Norton Parks and Recreation will hold the annual Kid's Fishing Derby at 166 John Scott Blvd., Saturday, June 2 at 7 a.m. This year there will be no charge for the event and there will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies for the biggest fish and the most fish caught. Dew Drops juice will be available. Bring your own bait.

Bikers, mark your calendars for June 2 for the Founders Day Motorcycle Run & Cookout Fundraiser. The run begins at Fillmore Nason Post 8049, Norton VFW and travels to Freetown VFW. Registration is from 9 to 11 a.m. Run starts at 11 a.m. Entry fee of $15 includes run and cookout. 

The Foxborough Against Diabetes 5K race in memory of Shannon E. Hurley will be held at 10 a.m. June 2 at 53 Neponset Ave. The race is looking for runners, racers and sponsors for the race. Anyone interested can contact John Hurley at 508-269-4259 or visit www.FoxboroAgainstDiabetes.com. One can download an application, sponsorship or register online.

Electronic recycle day is 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. at Saint Martha Parish, 227 South St., Plainville. This also includes a bike collection.

The Town of Mansfield - Council on Aging is now accepting reservations for the summer trip to McCoy Stadium for July this Saturday.  The annual Pawtucket Red Sox Game will be on Thursday, July 19, at noon. Tickets are $11 per person, and are located in the reserved seating area behind home plate on the third base line. Space is limited, and ticket reservations are now being taken.

Sunday

Hearts at Play "Family Fun Day" at the Maplewood Enrichment Center. All proceeds go to the Children's Hospital Boston Games & Field Sports, rock climbing, arts & crafts, gymnastics, boating, balloon creations, moonwalks, DJ, music, face painting, Del’s lemonade and bake sale.

The Lego Club will meet at the Fiske Public Library in Wrentham on Saturday from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m.
