1. The King Philip High girls' softball team will be playing Silver Lake Regional in the Division 1 South semifinals Saturday in Taunton at 11 a.m.

2. Sweatt Beach will be opening up Sunday and a nice day is expected weather-wise.

3. The King Philip High Band will be performing at Sunday's Concert on the Common at 7 p.m.

4. Heavy Metal Wednesday will be performing at Showcase Live at Patriot Place Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

5. Dave Silverman, the official photographer of the New England Patriots, is exhibiting his photos of animals in Africa at the Artist Studio Gallery at Patriot Place on Saturday from 1-9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. His work will also be on exhibit next weekend.
