Early Morning Mosquito Spraying to Start in Norfolk County May 29

The adulticide application is used to control nuisance and/or virus carrying adult mosquitoes.

Starting Tuesday, May 29, Norfolk County officials will begin to apply ULV (Ultra Low Volume) aerosol applications, weather permitting, to combat nuisance and virus-carrying adult mosquitoes.

The mosquito spraying will continue through Sept. 28, 2012 from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. (sunrise) and is applied at a rate of approximately one half ounce per acre of finished spray, according to a memo from the Norfolk County Mosquito Control Commission to local health boards.

Any resident who wants to know when spraying may be done in their area can visit www.norfolkcountymosquito.org Health at 781-341-1300, x9261.

Residents can also see a map and/or street listings up for treatment at www.norfolkcountymosquito.org/ULV_Schedule.html. That info will be posted on or about 3:30 p.m. the day before the scheduled application.
