Car Full of Patriots Fans Catches Fire in Maine Monday

Fans were headed to Nova Scotia from Foxborough when the car was "fully engulfed" on I-95 North in Newport, Maine Monday afternoon, according to The Bangor Daily News.

 

NEWPORT, Maine - Five New England Patriots fans were travelling back to Nova Scotia from Foxborough Monday after attending Sunday's game at Gillette Stadium when the 2007 Nissan Altima they were travelling in caught fire, according to an article in The Bangor Daily News.

The car, according to Maine State Police via The Bangor Daily News, "caught fire and was fully engulfed by the time emergency crews arrived."

There were no injuries reported from the incident but the vehicle was "a total loss," according to the article. The fire occurred near Exit 161 on I-95 North near Newport, Maine and was reported at 1:34 p.m. Monday, according to the article.
