5 Things: Pats Win, Government Study Committee to Meet, KP vs. Milford, and More!

It's Monday September 10 and here are the five things you need to know.

 

1. 70 and Mostly Sunny 

According to the National Weather Service, Monday should be mostly sunny with a high around 70 degrees. Look for the evening to be clear with a low near 46 degrees.

2. First Win For the Pats!

After trailing 3-0 early in the game, it didn't take long for the Patriots to take the lead and eventually defeat the Tennessee Titans 34-13 in Week 1 of the NFL season.

Tom Brady led the way for the Pats on 23-31 passing for 236 yards and two touchdowns. Stevan Ridley rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries while Patriots newcomer Brandon Loyd led the team in passing with five catches for 69 yards.

3. Town Meetings Tonight

The Board of Health will meet tonight at 6:30 in the meeting room at Town Hall.

Down the road at King Philip Regional High School, the Town Government Study Committee will be meeting at 7:00 p.m. in Room 103. The committee will be holding a joint meeting with the Board of Selectmen, Personnel Board, By-Law Review Committee, and Technology Committee.

4. The KP Sports Lineup

The Warriors get to welcome Milford into the Hockomock League today as the boys' soccer team hosts the Hawks today at 3:45 p.m.

The girls' soccer team and field hockey team will travel to Milford for games at 3:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

In golf, the Warriors will be on the road against Attleboro  at the Highland Country Club at 3:00 p.m. while volleyball will host Holliston at 5:00 p.m.

5. 9/11 Memorial Ceremony

The 9/11 memorial in front of Town Hall will be revealed in a special ceremony tomorrow evening at 6:30 p.m. A reception at St. Mary's Church will take place after the ceremony.
